Kentucky dealing with several injuries following loss to Tennessee
If the 44-6 loss to No. 3 Tennessee wasn’t bad enough, several Cats suffered injuries tonight in Knoxville. If you watched the broadcast, you know linebacker DeAndre Square, defensive back Tyrell Ajian, and wide receiver Chris Lewis got hurt, but after the game. Mark Stoops said Chris Rodriguez suffered an injury as well, which explains why he did not play most of the second half.
Square injured his right ankle during Tennessee’s first series. The senior captain went to the locker room but returned to action. Unfortunately, he left the field again in a walking boot with crutches and was ruled out. Ajian injured his back tackling Jabari Small on Tennessee’s final drive of the first quarter. At the break, Holly Rowe reported he was questionable to return. He did not. Lewis went down clutching his right leg towards the end of the third quarter and had to be helped off the field. Barion Brown also limped off on the same series but played in the fourth quarter.
Stoops did not have specific updates on the injured Cats after the game but expressed his concern to Tom Leach.

“I don’t know. C-Lew looked like he hurt his ankle. Worried about DeAndre. Worried about C-Rod. He’s banged up and hurting a little bit.”
Levis’ shoulder wrapped after the game
Will Levis used the bye week to heal from turf toe, an injured shoulder, and a dislocated finger. Despite the lopsided score, he played the entire game — a decision that’s already being questioned by the BBN. During his postgame interviews, Levis had his left shoulder wrapped up. Hopefully, it’s not serious enough to impact next Saturday’s game at Missouri.
Get well soon, Cats.
