Kentucky is getting run out of the gym at Ole Miss
Ole Miss is currently on a 15-3 run in the last 4:17 while Kentucky finished the half 1-7 from the field with no points in the last 2:07. That’s how you get down 54-31 — an absolute embarrassment on both ends for the Wildcats just a few days removed from getting their teeth kicked in by an unranked Arkansas team at home.
As we’re seeing things unfold in Oxford, this team can’t guard, can’t get the ball up the floor and scoring is like pulling teeth. The Cats are shooting just 38.7 percent from the field while allowing the Rebels to shoot 60.6 percent overall and 52.9 percent from three. The only reason it’s not worse is UK has hit five 3-pointers on 10 attempts to avoid the ass-kicking of the century.

Three players have scored in double figures for Ole Miss, led by Matthew Murrell with 14, followed by Malik Dia and Jaemyn Brakefield with 10 apiece while Dre Davis has seven, as well. Zero players have hit the double-digit mark for Kentucky with Jaxson Robinson scoring eight, Amari Williams adding six and Otega Oweh putting up five.
The Cats are playing uninspired basketball and on the cusp getting run out of the gym. The effort is non-existent and there don’t appear to be any clear answers. That’s how you earn the third-worst halftime deficit in Kentucky basketball history.
Embarrassing.
