Kentucky reportedly plans to add Bengals' Jemal Singleton as new running backs coach

The new offensive coaching staff is starting to finalize itself for head coach Mark Stoops.

On Sunday morning, it was reported by Doug Samuels of FootballScoop that current Cincinnati Bengals running back coach Jemal Singleton will accept a position with the Kentucky Wildcats for the same role next season. The 45-year old native of Turkey is in just his second season with the Bengals but his fifth as a coach in the NFL, spending time coaching the running backs with the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders.

According to Samuels, a deal has not been finalized at this moment.

Prior to his time in the NFL, Singleton spent several years at the collegiate level where he once again coached the running backs at Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Air Force. During his rise in the coaching ranks, he spent most of his time at his alma mater of the Air Force. He spent three seasons playing at the Academy from 1996-98, playing mainly as a running back while being named a two-time captain.

Kentucky recently added Liam Coen (offensive coordinator) and Eric Wolford (offensive line coach) to help fill the void left behind in the wake of the firing of Eddie Gran and the unfortunate passing of John Schlarman.
