Kentucky jumps up to No. 8 in latest Coaches Poll
A 5-0 start for Mark Pope has forced the coaches to join the media voters in pushing the Kentucky Wildcats into the top 10. After a seven-spot jump to No. 11 overall in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll following the Duke win, they saw another three-spot jump this week up to No. 8 overall.
That’s good for third in the SEC behind only Auburn (No. 3) and Tennessee (No. 6). Elsewhere, Kansas (No. 1), UConn (No. 2), Gonzaga (No. 4), Iowa State (No. 5) and Houston (No. 7) make up the other schools ahead of the Wildcats in the latest update. Alabama (No. 9) and Duke (No. 10) round out the top 10.

As for other SEC foes, Florida comes in at No. 16 overall, followed by Texas A&M at No. 20, Arkansas at No. 21 and Ole Miss at No. 24 with Texas, Mississippi State, Georgia and LSU also receiving votes.
