Kentucky Lands All-MAC OT Alex Wollschlaeger
The rebuilt Kentucky offensive line is having itself a Monday. Arkansas offensive guard Joshua Braun got the party started early on Monday. Alex Wollschlaeger quickly joined the fold.
Pete Nakos reports the All-MAC offensive tackle has signed with Kentucky. He visited Indiana before arriving in Lexington this weekend for an official visit. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Wollschlaeger is a 6-foot-7, 305-pound right tackle who earned All-MAC honors in back-to-back seasons, culminating with a first-team selection following the 2024 campaign. He has 2,341 career snaps under his belt. An exceptional pass-blocker, this fall the team captain had a PFF grade of 76.9. The Falcons finished fourth in the MAC with a 7-5 record.
Expect Wollschlaeger to start for the Cats at right tackle. Adam Luckett took a deep dive into Wollschlaeger’s game in the KSR Bio Blast.

Luckett’s Scouting Report
Alex Wollschlaeger plays with a good base and pad level on a 6-foot-7 frame. Shows grip strength, torque, and finishing power in gap scheme runs. Gets movement on double teams and finds work at the second level. Plays through the whistle and finishes blocks. Does get unbalanced in pass sets playing over his toes and allowing defenders to strike and disengage quickly. But when he sets, and plays with balance, rushes are typically stoned quickly due to punch and play strength. Dealing with true speed rush in isolation needs improvement. Shows high football IQ in passing off stunt games and rarely gets out of position.
Winning early is a key for Wollschaleger as defensive ends got under his pads when his first strike misses and that caused some issues. Enters the transfer portal as an experience right tackle with good downhill run game production and a big frame to maneuver around in pass pro. Dealing with better athletes in protection will be a concern as the super senior translates to the next level.
