Kentucky Football may have its punter for the future after landing a Monday commitment from Carter Schwartz, an in-state product out of the city of Louisville. Schwartz is a senior at Louisville Trinity where last season he was named to the All-District Team for Class 6A, District 5 for his standout punting for the Shamrocks in 2021.

“I’m staying home,” he tweeted Monday night to announce his decision to attend and play for UK.

Only 12 days passed between Schwartz receiving his scholarship offer and today’s Yahtzee. On September 28, he tweeted about a conversation he had with Kentucky assistant Louie Matsakis who helps out with special teams, specifically kicking, as a quality control coach on Mark Stoops’ staff. Schwartz’s offer to Kentucky came out of that conversation.

Currently, Colin Goodfellow handles the punting for the Wildcats as a sixth-year super-senior with no eligibility beyond this season. Australian punter Wilson Berry is also on the roster in his second season in Lexington.
