Kentucky LB Jamon Dumas-Johnson declares for 2025 NFL Draft
Another Kentucky Wildcat is headed to the pros.
On Wednesday afternoon, senior linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson announced on social media that he is officially declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1, 245-pound native of Maryland spent his first three college seasons at Georgia, helping the Bulldogs win national championships in 2021 and 2022. He then transferred to Kentucky ahead of the 2024 season for his final year of college eligibility.
“To the University of Kentucky and the coaching staff, thank you for the opportunity, welcoming me with open arms, and believing in me,” he wrote.
During his lone year in Lexington, Dumas-Johnson appeared in 11 games for the Wildcats, recording 67 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one interception, three fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown), and one forced fumble.
A former four-star high school prospect out of St. Frances Academy (MD), Dumas-Johnson played in 14 of Georgia’s 15 games as a true freshman. He quickly developed into a full-time starter at linebacker in 2022 and was named a First-Team All-American en route to the Bulldogs’ second straight title. An injury limited him to just nine games as a junior in 2023, although he was still productive whenever he was able to play.

Upon his transfer to Kentucky, Dumas-Johnson was viewed as a massive addition to the 2024 roster. He cracked plenty of Preseason All-SEC lists and made the Butkus Award Watch List for the nation’s top linebacker. On paper, his numbers as a Wildcat were good, but not great as the team finished with a 4-8 record.
Dumas-Johnson is one of a handful of Kentucky players from this past season to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. He joins DL Deone Walker, DB Zion Childress, OL Gerald Mincey, and LB D’Eryk Jackson as the Wildcats’ current draft hopefuls this spring.
