Kentucky leads Alabama 33-27 at half

After a sloppy and sometimes frustrating 20 minutes of play, No. 5 Kentucky leads Alabama 33-27.
What was billed as a footrace between two of the best offenses in the SEC has been a defensive showdown thus far. Alabama sprinted out to a 9-1 start, but Kentucky slowly worked their way back into the game, taking the lead at the 8:55 mark. Oscar Tshiebwe, TyTy Washington, and Daimion Collins (!) all have six points each to lead the Cats. Collins, playing his biggest minutes in almost a month, is a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line. This dunk off a lob from Davion Mintz was beautiful:
TyTy Washington got off to another slow start, but warmed up just before half, hitting a few of those midrange jumpers we’ve missed so much. The Cats are shooting 41.4% (12-29) from the floor, 2-6 (33%) from three while holding the Crimson Tide to 33.3% (10-30) and 2-14 (14.3%) from three thus far. Wildly, Alabama’s outrebounding Kentucky 23-17.
