Following Kentucky’s 90-77 win over Mississippi State on Wednesday night, the Wildcats now average more points per game than any other team in the country. Pouring in at least 90 points in three straight games sure does help.

Kentucky is now up to 90.8 points per game through 16 contests, narrowly edging out Arizona’s 90.6 points per game. UK’s adjusted offensive efficiency, according to KenPom, is also up to fourth in the country at 121.4. Kentucky has scored at least 81 points in all but one game this season — the 80-73 upset loss to UNC-Wilmington.

Not too far behind Kentucky is SEC foe Alabama, which averages 90.2 points per game, good enough for fourth-most in the nation. Whatever the over/under is for that matchup in Rupp Arena on Feb. 24, go ahead and blindly smash the over.

How about some more fun offensive numbers? Per KenPom, Kentucky ranks ninth in the country in three-point percentage (39.3), 19th in two-point percentage (56.2), and sixth in effective field goal percentage (57.3). Of the Wildcats’ top 10 rotational players, only three are shooting under 50 percent from the field. Three players are hitting at least 40 percent from deep, including an unreal 53 percent clip from freshman Reed Sheppard.

The defense is another thing (Kentucky ranks just 60th in adjusted defensive efficiency), but it won’t matter *too* often when 90 points are being put on the scoreboard.
