Kentucky leads Georgia 40-37 at half
It certainly isn’t ideal, but Kentucky leads the Georgia Bulldogs 40-37 after 20 minutes at Rupp Arena.
With Sahvir Wheeler out with a neck injury, the Cats don’t quite look like themselves, especially on defense. The Bulldogs, who were averaging only 44.2% from the field coming in, are shooting 52% from the floor so far, and have four threes. They’re also 7-7 from the charity stripe, whereas the Cats are only 1-1.

On Kentucky’s side, Oscar Tshiebwe already has a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. TyTy Washington is performing well in Wheeler’s place, with 9 points, 6 assists, 1 turnover, and 1 steal. Davion Mintz has 8 points, but spent a good chunk of the half on the bench due to foul trouble.
Dig into the first-half numbers below, and shake your head at Tom Crean hugging Sahvir Wheeler by his injured neck before the game.
