Kentucky Leads Iowa 13-3 at Halftime of the Citrus Bowl

The Wildcats made big plays near the end of the half to capture all of the momentum at the Citrus Bowl. Kentucky leads Iowa 13-3. The Cats will receive the opening kickoff of the second half.
Will Levis was perfect on the opening drive, completing 6-of-6 passes for 41 yards, including a five-yard touchdown pass to Chris Rodriguez to cap off a 13-play scoring drive. It wasn’t Levis’ most impressive throw of the day.
Kentucky kicked a field goal just before half thanks to a spectacular reception by Wan’Dale Robinson on third and 26. Dave Pasch had an incredible call: “How do you leave him open?”

Two plays into the following Iowa possession, Jordan Wright tipped a Spencer Petras pass. D’Eryk Jackson was able to grab the ball, UK’s first tipped pass interception of the season. The Wildcats were unable to turn that into a touchdown, settling for three points.
Rodriguez is running well for the Wildcats, picking up 56 yards on 10 carries. Levis has been efficient, completing 9-of-11 attempts for 97 yards and the score. The biggest problem for UK so far: protecting the quarterback. Levis was sacked three times as Eric Wolford tries to fill holes on the Big Blue Wall.
