Kentucky leads North Carolina 40-29 at half
After 20 minutes of play, your University of Kentucky Wildcats lead the North Carolina Tar Heels 40-29. That score only tells part of the story. The Cats were up by 18 with 4:21 left before letting the Tar Heels cut the lead to 11.
After his worst performance of the season vs. Notre Dame, Sahvir Wheeler came out with something to prove. Wheeler has a team-high 14 points on 7-10 from the floor. Oscar Tshiebwe started the game on a roll, racking up seven rebounds in seven minutes, but picked up his second foul at the 12:37 mark. The fact that Kentucky was able to get out to such a big lead without him bodes well for the second half.
Kentucky is shooting 41.7% (15-36) from the floor, 42.9% (3-7) from three while holding North Carolina to 37% (10-27) and nadda from three (0-6). The Cats are winning the battle of the boards 26-14.
