HALFTIME: Kentucky leads Ohio 40-38 at the break

Kentucky is in a rock fight with Ohio, with the Wildcats holding a slight lead over the Bobcats at halftime.

Keion Brooks Jr. leads Kentucky with 12 points on 4-7 shooting and 4-4 from the line to go with five rebounds and four turnovers. He is the only Wildcat in double figures at the break.

TyTy Washington has added eight points (4-8 FG) to go with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and two turnovers in 17 minutes. Bryce Hopkins has also added seven points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3PT) to go with seven rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes.

Sahvir Wheeler and Davion Mintz each have four points, with Dontaie Allen also adding three points in six minutes.

The biggest storyline, though, is that Oscar Tshiebwe was limited to just one minute in the first half after being called for two fouls in the opening seconds of the game. Daimion Collins, Kentucky’s only other available scholarship big, also picked up three fouls in seven minutes.

As a team, UK is shooting 46.7 percent overall (14-30) and 20 percent from three (2-10). Ohio is shooting 39.4 percent overall (13-33), but 41.7 percent (5-12) from three. Kentucky is winning the battle on the glass 26-11, but they’ve turned the ball over eight times compared to just one for Ohio.
