LISTEN: Kentucky fans vent frustrations, sadness after South Carolina loss
Another embarrassing loss — to a team Kentucky was favored to beat by almost 20 points — was followed by another emotional KSR Postgame Show. The phone lines were loaded as fans called in to vent their frustrations and sadness about the state of Kentucky Basketball, including one man who broke down in tears on his two-hour drive home to Ohio, telling Matt Jones he may never come back to Rupp.
In what is becoming a tradition, Matt opened this show with his thoughts on the 71-68 loss to South Carolina and where things go from here. It was pretty bleak.
“Cal has lost this team. He says all the time, these guys need me, blah blah blah. This team, they don’t like each other. On the surface, they don’t seem to like him. Now, maybe they do. I don’t know. I’m not around every day. But it sure doesn’t feel like it. It just seems like it’s falling apart. I wonder if we look back and say, this is kind of the day where we just knew this thing isn’t working because this was terrible.”
