Kentucky makes the cut for Koby Brea, nation's top 3-point shooter
Mark Pope’s offense needs three-point shooters. Thankfully, Kentucky is still in the running for the nation’s best three-point shooter, former Dayton wing Koby Brea.
Kentucky is one of five schools Brea is considering, along with Kansas, Duke, North Carolina, and UConn. So, all the bluebloods. On3’s Jamie Shaw reports that the 6-foot-5, 175-pound combo guard held Zoom calls with each school. Maybe he is one of the official visitors expected in Lexington this week?
Brea averaged 11.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 33 games as a junior during the 2023-24 season. He shot 49.8% (100-201) from the three-point line, which ranked No. 1 in the country. Last season, BYU was No. 21 in the country in three-point attempts per game (32.0). Combine those opportunities with Kentucky’s blueblood pedigree and booming NIL resources and Mark Pope’s got a pretty solid pitch if you ask me.

Brea totaled 889 points, including 224 three-pointers on 43.4% shooting, in his four seasons at Dayton. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
This morning, Matt Norlander reported that Pope is expected to host official visitors each day this week. BYU transfer guard Richie Saunders is currently on campus for his trip. Former Drexel big Amari Williams liked what he saw in Lexington so much that he committed at the end of his visit on Sunday. Is Brea next? Come on down.
