Kentucky Makes the Top 2 for Ball State Transfer CB Myles Norwood as He Sets Commitment Date
Myles Norwood is down to a final two: Kentucky and South Carolina. Now, he’s got a commitment date set.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Ball State transfer cornerback told KSR+ that he’s planning to commit on Christmas Day, December 25th. He’s done taking visits.
“[I’m looking for] the best fit for me and where I see myself going in and making an immediate impact. I want to go somewhere that will change my life in 2025,” Norwood said. “I’m looking for a great fit with the scheme, the opportunity, the coaching staff, and the culture. Also, the development piece of it as well. Both schools have developed one-year transfers into the NFL.”
Norwood took his official visit to South Carolina from Dec. 19-20th. That was immediately before his Kentucky visit.
“I feel like the opportunities at both schools are almost the same. I have the opportunity to play in the SEC,” he said. “You can’t pass that up. It’s more of a need instead of a want with these two schools.”
His Kentucky Visit
Myles Norwood finished off his visit schedule with a trip to Kentucky on Saturday, December 21st. He got the chance to talk with Mark Stoops and the rest of the coaching staff about his fit.
“What stood out the most to me was the coaching staff, the defensive scheme, and the culture Coach Stoops is trying to bring back after this past season,” Norwood said. “They see me fitting in either playing as a nickel or a corner. I bring versatility and intelligence to play either. I have to come in and compete for a spot. Nothing is given.”
Norwood got the opportunity to spend time with Kent State transfer Kameron Olds while on his visit. Olds announced his commitment to Kentucky on Monday morning.

“We were just talking about Coach [Brad] White, the defensive staff, what their plan is for both of us, and how we could fit in,” he said. “We played against each other during the season. We were talking about other schools as well, but he ultimately committed that night.”
Myles Norwood’s Game
Ball State cornerback Myles Norwood finished the 2024 season with 38 tackles and five pass deflections. He earned a 70.7 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus.
“I bring a great football IQ, I’m athletic, fast, tough, and will give it my all no matter what,” Norwood said. “I’m getting closer and closer to becoming that complete corner, but I know I still have work to do. I’m going to give it my all this offseason and this season coming up.”
Both the coaching staffs at Kentucky and South Carolina have talked with Norwood about improving his strength and weight. He is also looking to improve his technique.
“They said that they can help with my press technique and certain defenses where I need to change up technique,” he said. “The biggest concern is just strength and continuing to improve my speed and explosiveness.”
Whichever school lands Norwood will be getting “a true corner,” he said. He can play man or zone.
“I’m well-rounded and athletic,” he said. “If I become a Wildcat, you’re going to get the best out of me. I’m going to make sure I do my job and my side of the field is going to be on lockdown.”
