Kentucky in early running for '24 4-star WR Mazeo Bennett
The Kentucky coaching staff made sure to get in early on Mazeo Bennett before his stock inevitably blew up — which is exactly what’s happened over recent months.
Bennett is a 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver out of Greenville, SC who is considered a four-star recruit and the No. 236 overall prospect in the class of 2024, according to the On3 Consensus. Kentucky was just the third Divison I school to extend an offer to the high school sophomore, which came back in October 2021. Current wide receivers coach Scott Woodward initially established a relationship, as did former offensive coordinator Liam Coen.
On Wednesday afternoon, Bennett dropped a graphic of his first 12 scholarship offers, which included the Wildcats. Prior to the beginning of 2022, Kentucky was one of just four offers for Bennett, joining Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech. Since then, he’s been hauling in major scholarships from the likes of Penn State, Georgia, Tennessee, Miami (FL), and Florida State, among others.

Kentucky and the two nearby South Carolina-based programs were the first to show Bennett love. He took two visits to Lexington in 2021, one in the spring and another during a gameday trip to catch UK’s upset win over LSU in October, which was also the same day he earned his offer. He’s made multiple visits to both South Carolina and Coastal Carolina in recent months and has also taken trips to the likes of Alabama, Clemson, and Notre Dame. Bennett is a bonafide star pass-catcher in his class. He currently has upcoming visits scheduled for West Virginia and Tennessee.
Bennett continues to hear from Kentucky and Coach Woodward, and the hope is that he can get on campus sometime this summer or into the fall for another game visit. We’ll have more on Bennett and his recruitment as a whole coming soon.
