On Tuesday, Kentucky introduced its three new assistant football coaches. After losing Liam Coen, Jon Sumrall, and Eric Wolford, the Wildcats attempt to reload with some new coaching talent.

Mark Stoops was up first, and the head coach explained the process of losing Coen and eventually landing on Rich Scangarello. The quarterbacks coach with the San Francisco 49ers is a member of the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree and runs a very similar scheme to the one Coen installed in Lexington.

Once Stoops wrapped up, Scangarello took the podium and addressed the media for 15 minutes. The former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator explained why the job was enticing and how excited he is to work with a quarterback as good as Will Levis.

After that, Mike Stoops got on the podium and is officially working for his little brother. Mark Stoops was the defensive coordinator from 2004-09 at Arizona under Mike, and now things have come full circle. The long-time defensive coordinator explained what he learned in two years working for Nick Saban and how excited he is to help defensive coordinator Brad White.

Last but not least, new offensive line coach Zach Yenser spoke with reporters and is very ecstatic to return to the Bluegrass State. A former graduate assistant at Troy under John Schlarman, Yenser is excited to continue the legacy that his former boss established in Lexington and looks forward to installing the wide zone offense with his new group at Kentucky.
