At the Half: Kentucky leads Mississippi State 36-35
After a wild 20 minutes of play in Starkville, Kentucky leads Mississippi State 36-35.
The Cats are once again without Sahvir Wheeler (ankle) and CJ Fredrick (rib), but are holding their own so far in the Hump. Jacob Toppin and Antonio Reeves lead Kentucky in scoring with 11 each, followed by Oscar Tshiebwe with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Mississippi State’s Tolu Smuth also has 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Kentucky is shooting 51.7% from the field and winning the battle of the boards 18-9, but still only leads by one. Part of that is due to the Cats’ seven turnovers, which led to 12 Bulldog points.
More numbers below. This is a big one, so keep up the good stuff, Cats.
