LSU is the second-worst team in the SEC, but Kentucky’s blowout win over the Tigers still resulted in a jump in the NET rankings. The Cats are up three spots to No. 12 in the NET this morning, swapping places with Missouri, Saturday’s opponent. The Tigers, previously No. 12, are now No. 15.

Duke took over the top spot in the NET after Auburn’s loss to Texas A&M. The Tigers are now No. 2. Three more SEC teams are in the top ten: Florida (No. 4), Tennessee (No. 5), and Alabama (No. 6). Gonzaga, which is no longer in the AP Top 25, is No. 8.

Last night’s win was in Quad 3, bringing the Cats’ record in Q3 games to 4-0. Kentucky’s record in Quad 1 games remains 9-9, with an impressive 6-6 mark in Quad 1A contests, aka the best of the best. Kentucky’s nine Quad 1 wins remain tied for third-most in the country behind Auburn (15) and Michigan State (10). The Cats’ six Quad 1A wins are tied with Tennessee for the third most in the country behind Auburn (9) and Alabama (8). The Cats can take that total to seven on Saturday at Missouri (NET No. 15).

Here’s a look at Quad 1 on Kentucky’s team sheet with one regular-season game to play. Also of note: Arkansas jumped eight spots in the NET to No. 39 after beating Vanderbilt. If the Razorbacks finish in the top 30 of the NET, Kentucky’s loss to them in Rupp Arena will move from Quad 2 to Quad 1, which would give Kentucky zero Quad 2-4 losses. That would be pretty sweet. Arkansas hosts Mississippi State (NET No. 33) on Saturday and could use some more big wins to secure an NCAA Tournament bid. Something to keep an eye on.
