Kentucky moves up to No. 11 in latest Coaches Poll
The media voters were a bit higher on Kentucky‘s win over Duke than the coaches, apparently. After coming in at No. 9 overall in the latest AP Poll — a ten-spot jump from last week — the Wildcats only moved up seven spots to No. 11 overall in the updated USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
That puts the Cats one spot behind the Blue Devils, somehow, despite taking them down in the head-to-head battle in the Champions Classic.
Elsewhere, Kansas holds firm at No. 1, followed by UConn at No. 2, Auburn at No. 3, Gonzaga at No. 4, Iowa State at No. 5, Purdue at No. 6, Houston and Alabama tied at No. 7 and Tennessee at No. 9 before getting to Duke and Kentucky at Nos. 10 and 11, respectively.
As for SEC foes, Florida comes in at No. 9 while Texas A&M and Arkansas close out the top 25 at Nos. 23 and 24, respectively. Ole Miss, Texas and Mississippi State are among the others receiving votes.
