We’re already seeing the impact of Kentucky’s win over Missouri. The Cats started the day as a No. 4 seed in Bracketology, with Joe Lunardi listing them as the No. 13 overall team in the field. After the 91-83 win over the Tigers in Columbia, Kentucky is now a No. 3 seed and the No. 11 overall team in Lunardi’s projections.

The particulars of this could fluctuate a lot in the next week, but this scenario puts Kentucky in the South Region with No. 1 seed Auburn, No. 2 seed Michigan State, and No. 4 seed Arizona. Also on the No. 3 seed line: Texas A&M (No. 9 overall), St. John’s (No. 10), and Iowa State (No. 12). The Aggies are currently leading LSU in the second half and if they win, will be the No. 5 seed in the SEC Tournament. Kentucky will be the No. 6 or No. 7 seed, which is contingent on the result of the Ole Miss vs. Florida game this evening. Alabama’s overtime win over No. 1 Auburn has the Crimson Tide within striking distance of a No. 1 seed.

Kentucky’s win over Missouri took their total in Quad 1 games to 10, tied with Houston for the third most in the country behind Auburn (15) and Michigan State (11). It was Kentucky’s eighth victory over an AP Top 15 opponent this season, which ties the all-time record in college basketball. Those big wins will come in handy on Selection Sunday; obviously, it’d be nice to pick up a few more in Nashville.
