Kentucky named a finalist for 4-star '24 ATH Jalewis Solomon

After wrapping up his third official visit of the month, Jalewis Solomon is beginning to narrow down his list of college options.
On Monday afternoon, Solomon announced on social media that he is down to five finalists: Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida State, Texas A&M, and Auburn. The four-star athlete out of Ellaville (GA) Schley County has already taken official visits to the first three and has stopped at Texas A&M for a workout. He expects to take an official to Auburn this fall.
Solomon, who is rated No. 224 overall in the class of 2024 according to the On3 Industry Ranking, took his OV to Kentucky the weekend of June 16-18. The Wildcats’ coaching staff sees him as a wide receiver while other schools are recruiting him to play defense.
“It was my first time visiting (Kentucky) but it felt like I had been there more than once,” Solomon told On3’s Chad Simmons. “The coaches make you feel like it’s home and they have a great plan for me on the offensive side of the ball so I like that.”

Florida State has the inside edge at this stage in Solomon’s recruitment. He even said as much shortly after his official visit with the Seminoles wrapped up over the weekend. South Carolina is also said to be a frontrunner alongside FSU. But if there’s any good news for Kentucky, it’s that he doesn’t expect to make his final decision until later in the summer.
“I thought I might commit sometime in July,” Solomon told reporters. “But talking with my mom, I don’t think I’ll be committing until August or early September. Florida State is probably No. 1 right now — No. 1 for sure. All I needed to see is this last visit, and they never disappointed me.”
Kentucky was the 10th Divison I offer for Solomon, which he received all the way back in Jan. 2022 from defensive backs coach Chris Collins. The longer this recruitment goes on, the better chance UK will have at jumping up in the pecking order.
