Kentucky Basketball trailed Miles College in the final exhibition game of Kentucky’s preseason schedule Friday night. The Division II opponent went up 46-39 at halftime after hitting 11 of 15 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes, but the Golden Bears cooled off in the second half as the Wildcats gained control.

In the end, Kentucky escaped a preseason scare, winning 80-71 to wrap up exhibiton play. The two-headed point guard of Sahvir Wheeler and TyTy Washington led the way with 15 points and six assists apiece, further proving their willingness to share the role. Kellan Grady joined them in double figures with his 13 points, as did Jacob Toppin with 12 off the bench in Toppin’s first minutes this season.

One positive takeaway moving forward, Kentucky hit 11 of 19 3-pointers and finished with a better outside shooting percentage in the end.
