Your University of Kentucky Wildcats are the No. 3 seed in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament and will face the No. 14 seed Oakland — looks up mascot — Golden Grizzlies in the first round on Thursday. Not surprisingly, oddsmakers expect Kentucky to win this game. The Cats opened as a 12.5-point favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook. The point total and moneyline odds have yet to be released.

This will be the first time Kentucky has played Oakland, which is coming off a 23-11 regular season and the Horizon League Championship. The Grizzlies average 76.4 points per game on 45% from the field and 35% from three, while holding their opponents to 72.9 points per game. Senior forward Terry Townsend is their star, averaging a team-high 16.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game with 106 total assists this season.

If the Cats win as the oddsmakers expect, they will face the winner of No. 6 seed Texas Tech (23-10) and No. 11 seed NC State (22-14) on Saturday. Kentucky leads the all-time series vs. Texas Tech 5-0 and NC State 3-1. The Cats have not faced either team in the NCAA Tournament.
