Kentucky Offers Former Akron WR Konata Mumpfield
Recruiting never stops. Fourteen hours after the faxes starting rolling into the Joe Craft Football Training Facility on National Signing Day, former Akron wide receiver Konata Mumpfield shared he received a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky.
A 6-foot-1, 180 pound pass-catcher from Hoschton, GA, last season he was one of the MAC’s top freshman. Mumpfield caught 63 passes for 751 yards and eight touchdowns for the 2-10 Zips.
Kentucky is the latest SEC school to offer the transfer portal hot commodity. Mississippi State and Ole Miss are also in pursuit. He visited Louisville last weekend and has trips planned for Pitt and Vanderbilt. It would be a real shame if UK snaked away one of UofL’s top transfer portal targets, a real shame.
