Kentucky offers Justin Edwards' teammate, '24 4-star PG Ahmad Nowell
Is John Calipari looking to build another pipeline in the northeast?
On Sunday, KSR’s Jack Pilgrim reported that Ahmad Nowell, a four-star class of 2024 point guard, received an offer from Kentucky. Head coach John Calipari and his assistants watched Nowell, 6-foot-2, play multiple times over the weekend on the Nike EYBL circuit in Atlanta, GA for Team Final before ultimately extending him an offer.
In four games for Team Final (3-1) this weekend in front of a slew of college coaches — Kentucky chief among them — Nowell averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per outing while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor and 9-17 from beyond the arc. The Germantown, TN native is considered the No. 46 overall rising senior in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
“I know they (Kentucky) produce NBA players and they get a lot of players to the NBA,” Nowell told KSR over the weekend.
Of note, Nowell is the longtime teammate of incoming five-star Kentucky freshman wing Justin Edwards. The two played together at Imhotep (PA) Charter Institute in high school and also suited up for the same AAU program, Team Final. Earlier in the week, the coaching staff trio of Calipari plus assistants Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman made an in-person visit to meet with Nowell at Imhotep.

During his junior high school season, Nowell averaged 13.3 points on 42.2 percent shooting, 39.1 percent from three, and 80.7 percent at the line while adding 4.9 rebounds per contest. He scored 12 points in the Pennsylvania 5A state championship alongside Edwards to bring home the title.
Tennessee is heavily involved with the playmaking guard as he’s already taken an official visit to Knoxville back in February. He also holds offers from the likes of Kansas, UConn, Auburn, Memphis, and St. John’s, among others.
Calipari was successful in prying Edwards away from Tennessee. Could he repeat that with Nowell?
