Kentucky Offers Two Young Quarterbacks Following Camp
Thursday morning the Kentucky football program hosted one more single-day camp at Kroger Field before the Wildcats open their doors for a multitude of official visitors this weekend. Two intriguing young quarterbacks worked out for Liam Coen and left with scholarship offers.
Scotty Fox is on the big board in the 2025 recruiting class. A 6-foot-2, three-star talent from the Cleveland suburb of Mentor, he previously earned Power Five offers from Minnesota, Indiana and West Virginia.
As a sophomore he completed 60% of his passes to tally 3,134 passing yards and 30 touchdowns. In his highlight reel, Fox shows plenty of athleticism while moving around the in the pocket. He has a quick release to execute RPOs and accurately completes off-platform throws to targets down the field.
While working out for the Kentucky offensive coordinator, Scotty Fox put that accuracy on display. Almost every throw was right on the money. He showed a competitiveness that stood out to the Kentucky coaching staff, earning his first SEC scholarship offer. He’s one of a handful of 2025 quarterbacks with UK offers, most notably Stone Saunders, who is expected to conduct a similar workout with Coen next week.
A 2026 Quarterback from a Familiar School
Vince Marrow has picked up frequent flyer miles traveling to Winton Woods High School over the years. He brought Mike Edwards and Chris Oats to Lexington. Now Kentucky is recruiting a lengthy quarterback from the Cincinnati school.
Bryshawn Brown just completed his freshman year of high school, but it does not look like it. The 2026 prospect is 6-foot-5. He’s rail thin and it’s exacerbated by his long arms. Even so, he looks natural reaching back and letting the ball fly down the field. He kept up with the older passer and at the conclusion of the camp, Brown received an offer from Kentucky, the 2026 recruit’s first Power Five scholarship offer.
Quarterback Barion Brown?
The Kentucky wide receiver dabbled at the position during his time at Pearl-Cohn High School. Barion Brown showed off his arm to the campers. If only the wide receiver target didn’t get shucked out of bounds on the deep ball.

Other Notes from Thursday’s Kentucky Football Camp
— The highest-rated player on campus did not camp with the Wildcats. Elijah Melendez is a four-star linebacker from just outside of Orlando, Florida. He’s a Top 25 linebacker in the country and the No. 262 player in the 2025 recruiting class, according to On3. Mike Stoops spent plenty of time talking to the talented underclassman that’s also considering Florida and Miami, among others. He shared with Zack Geoghegan what stood out during the visit.
— Cardinal Mooney was well-represented in Lexington, and it wasn’t just the Stoops brothers. Mark, Mike and Vince Marrow’s alma mater brought down a handful of players, mostly from the trenches, to Kentucky.
— There was one other quarterback who worked out with the two that picked up offers. Emmett Queen is the son of a former Ohio State Buckeye that will play for Cincinnati Elder next year. That’s a name to remember in the 2027 class.
— Columbus WR Jeremiah Watkins made a return trip to Lexington today. The three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class has a dozen offers so far, but none from the Power Five ranks.
