Oklahoma saved its NCAA Tournament hopes with a win over Mississippi State on Saturday, which snapped a five-game losing streak. The Sooners are among the last four byes in Joe Lunardi’s latest Bracketology. A win over Kentucky would help their resume considerably.

Even so, there are still plenty of tickets available for tonight’s game. In fact, Oklahoma is running some promos in hopes of packing the Lloyd Noble Center, which has a capacity of just under 11,000. Tickets start at just $20. If you also buy a ticket to today’s Oklahoma baseball game, which starts at 4 p.m. CT/5 p.m. ET, you can get a ticket to the basketball game for $15.

Once inside, the deals continue. Oklahoma is offering $2 beers, sodas, and popcorn. Students will get FREE TACOS and the chance to win $5,000 if they make a halfcourt shot. The Oklahoma Lottery is even giving away $1,000 to one lucky fan. Former Oklahoma football stars turned pros Anton Harrison (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Wanya Morris (Kansas City Chiefs) took to Twitter to encourage fans to join them at the game.

Yesterday, Oklahoma coach Porter Moser went on SEC Radio on Sirius XM with Dari Nowkhah, an Oklahoma alum, and urged fans, especially students, to show up tonight.

“That’s what I would say, Dari, is that these guys play their tails off. We scored 93 points against one of the top defenses in Mississippi State. We had 18 assists. We moved the ball, it was exciting. We’ve got some really athletic guys. We know where we go on the road, our bus pulls up and it’s down the street camping out two hours before the game to get in. And it means a lot. It means a lot.

“The people that go to the games, the students, I have a great connection to students. I go speak at all the fraternities and sororities. One of the top ten all-time student records has been in the past four years during my tenure. When they go, it makes such a difference in adrenaline, especially when it’s going back and forth and the other team is making a run. That’s when it helps.”

This is Moser’s first game against Kentucky, but he’s coached a current Cat in Otega Oweh, who played his first two seasons at Oklahoma, and against Mark Pope. Oklahoma beat BYU 82-66 last season, the Cougars’ first in the Big 12.

“I’m excited for our guys,” Moser said. “I think Kentucky is one of the best teams in the country. I’ve watched them, the way they run offense. I coached against Mark last year at BYU when they ran just phenomenal offense and they’ve got bigs. Amari Williams, one of the best passing bigs.

“Wednesday, I hope people come out. It makes such a huge difference. It makes a difference for the guys. They’re young guys, man. The atmospheres are awesome. If you ever played the game, you know that. We’re excited, we’re looking for a great turnout, but our guys are going to be ready regardless.”

Early reports aren’t great, but hopefully Kentucky Blue finds a way in to help the Cats secure a much-needed victory.
