That. Just. Happened. Kentucky upset No. 6 Ole Miss in Oxford, a statement win for Mark Stoops and the Wildcats after the heartbreaking loss to Georgia just a few weeks ago. Kentucky’s defense held Jaxson Dart and the high-flying Rebels — who ranked No. 1 in the country in points per game, yards per game, passing yards per game, and offensive success rate coming into the game — to just 17 points and one passing touchdown.

Kentucky ran 75 plays to Ole Miss’ 56 and dominated time of possession 39:43 to 20:17. Dart hit the turf four times, two of those sacks coming from Octavious Oxendine. On offense, the Cats did just enough to secure a victory, with Brock Vandagriff going 18-28 for 243 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions. Kentucky was 3-3 on fourth down, the final and most memorable conversion coming on 4th and 7, a 63-yard catch and run by Barion Brown to the Ole Miss 17-yard line.
