This offseason, Kentucky saw two massive changes to their basketball programs. First, Kenny Brooks was brought in to coach the women’s team. Then, Mark Pope replaced John Calipari as the coach of the men’s basketball team.

Despite both coaches having to completely rebuild their respective programs from top to bottom, both managed to put enough solid pieces together to get their squads ranked in the men’s and women’s AP Preseason Top 25 rankings.

Kentucky is just one of 12 programs who can boast about both of their basketball teams being ranked heading into the season. UCLA, UConn, Ole Miss, Texas, Duke, Indiana, North Carolina, Iowa State, Creighton, Baylor and Alabama are the other 11 programs with those same bragging rights.

Of course, it’s fun and cool to be ranked heading into the season, but it’s up to Pope and Brooks to make sure they can keep their teams in the rankings moving forward.
