Kentucky is still looking to put the finishing touches on its 2025 recruiting class, but the coaching staff has plenty of targets in mind looking ahead to 2026. One of them is already being heavily recruited by the Wildcats.

That would be five-star shooting guard Jason Crowe Jr., who is ranked as the No. 8 overall high school junior in the country. According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Kentucky is one of seven schools in constant communication with the 6-foot-2 native of California. The others are Arkansas, Michigan, Miami (FL), Southern California, UCLA, and Washington.

Crowe Jr. is the son of former professional basketball player Jason Crowe Sr., who has a lifelong friendship with Kentucky assistant coach Jason Hart. “Jason Hart is one of my best friends,” Crowe Sr. told Jacob Polacheck of KSR+ back in the summer. The two played high school ball together at Inglewood, which is where Crowe Jr. currently plays.

Not long after head coach Mark Pope assembled his staff in the spring, Kentucky — led by Hart — immediately began to build a relationship with Crowe. A scholarship offer was extended to Crowe in the summer and the two sides have been in regular communication since then. Pope and Hart made an in-home visit with Crowe in California back in September.

Crowe has been on a handful of unofficial visits to USC, UCLA, and Miami (FL), but he has yet to take any officials. Expect that to change soon once the high school season begins to wrap up with Kentucky among the first to bring him on campus.

Back in December, Crowe exploded for 55 points in a win against fellow top recruit Alijah Arenas, who also holds a UK offer, and his Chatsworth (CA) squad at The Classic at Damien. He’s also produced multiple games of 40-plus points this season.
