On Sunday it became official that 22nd-ranked Kentucky and 15th-ranked Iowa will meet in the upcoming Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day. Kickoff set for 1 p.m. at sunny Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, and on ABC on your television.

A close matchup on paper, oddsmakers needed extra time to set a line for the Wildcats versus the Hawkeyes. It wasn’t until around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night that a betting line finally appeared on VegasInsider.com with Kentucky as the favorite in the game. The Cats are laying 1.5 points; odds to win at -125.

Point Spread: Kentucky -1.5
Odds To Win: Kentucky -125/Iowa +105

Looking back on the regular season, Kentucky went 8-4 against the spread and enters the postseason with back-to-back winners against New Mexico State and Louisville (following three consecutive losses ATS). As for the point total, the over hit in eight of Kentucky’s 12 regular season games.

In the Citrus Bowl, the point total opened at 45 points.

Over/Under: 45.0 pts

Good luck out there.
