Kentucky Opens as 5-Point Favorites Against South Carolina
Even after an uninspiring 28-23 victory over UT-Chattanooga on Saturday, Kentucky opened as 5-point favorites over the Gamecocks for their 7:30 pm ET matchup at William-Brice Stadium next Saturday. The over/under was set at 51.5.
However, the line has already been bet up to Kentucky as a 5.5-point favorite with an updated over/under of 48.5.
UPDATE (3:16 p.m. EST): Kentucky is now a 4-point favorite to beat South Carolina.
According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, South Carolina has a 55.3 percent chance to beat Kentucky.
This season the Wildcats are 2-1 against the spread after failing to cover on Saturday, but the over has hit in the first three matchups for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, South Carolina sits at 2-0-1 and the under has hit in the first two of their three matchups.
In the Mark Stoops era, UK has covered the spread twice in Columbia, coming off two straight-up wins from 2015 and 2017. Despite Kentucky’s success against South Carolina in the Mark Stoops era, this will be the first time Kentucky heads into William-Brice stadium as favorites in the Mark Stoops era (and maybe ever).
