Kentucky Opens as 2-Point Underdogs Against Mississippi State
There could be some money to be made this weekend. Kentucky heads down to Starkville as 2-point road underdogs against Mississippi State. It’s only the third time this season the Wildcats have been an underdog.
This season Kentucky, now ranked No. 12 in the country, has one of the best records ATS in all college football (6-1). The only time Kentucky didn’t cover was against UT-Chattanooga back in Week 3. Meanwhile, Mississippi State, who is 4-3 on the season, is a putrid 3-4 ATS.
Both teams have split ATS in their last 10 head-to-head meetings, with only three outright wins against the Bulldogs in the Stoops era.

I’m sure, like most of you, I saw this line and immediately wanted to jump on Kentucky +2 and the Moneyline, but here’s the caveat; it’s been quietly talked about while Kentucky has dominated the SEC East this season, but Starkville is STILL a bugaboo for the Wildcats. Kentucky has not won in Starkville since 2008. Throw in the night atmosphere, the cowbells, and Kentucky being a top-15 team. There’s a real chance this is Kentucky’s biggest road test this season.
I still think Kentucky on the Moneyline is a good play here, but regardless, proceed with caution. Starkville has not been kind to the ‘Cats for quite some time.
Bet responsibly.
