Kentucky opens as a slight favorite vs. No. 6 Florida
Kentucky will enter SEC play as an early home favorite against No. 6 Florida. With the Gators coming to town for the early-morning tip-off in Lexington, the folks out in the desert give the slight nod to the Wildcats on Saturday.
By how many? Kentucky has opened as a 1.5-point favorite with the over/under set at 165.5 points. It’s about as close to a toss-up as Vegas could come up with — a moneyline bet for the Cats would cost you -115 compared to -104 for the Gators.
KenPom projects an 83-82 loss for Mark Pope’s squad while Bart Torvik sees UK coming away with an 83-82 win inside Rupp Arena. ESPN’s BPI likes the Cats by 3.0 points while giving the home team a 61.8 percent chance to pull off the win.
