WATCH: Kentucky players thank fans after Senior Night win, Griddy off the court

With tonight’s win over Ole Miss, Kentucky finishes the season with a perfect 18-0 record at Rupp Arena for only the 14th time in program history, sixth time in the John Calipari Era. Afterward, freshman TyTy Washington seized the mic to thank fans for their support. On their Senior Night, Davion Mintz, aka “Uncle Dave,” and “Granddad” Kellan Grady also addressed the BBN, and then Mintz led the entire team off the court in a dance. You know which one.
“It’s March 1st,” Mintz said. “We’re going to finish this thing out. Let’s get Griddy.”
“It felt really good,” Washington said of talking to the fans. “I kind of did that by choice. I actually got the Kentucky experience. Coming fresh off the pandemic, just seeing everybody’s faces, it reminded me of all of the stuff I’d seen growing up on TV and how crazy the fans were, and I actually got to experience it, so I wanted to thank them firsthand for always being on our side. We finished on our home court undefeated so that’s always big for us and we couldn’t really do that without the fans.”
Kentucky also shared this video of TyTy teaching the dance team to do the Griddy, something we hopefully are all doing well into April.
