Kentucky's projected SEC Tournament path after last night's results
After last night’s results, the SEC standings are a complete mess; however, Kentucky’s spot in the tournament bracket is becoming clearer.
Auburn’s overtime win over Mississippi State and Arkansas’ win over LSU eliminated Kentucky from the race for the No. 2 seed. The Cats are now tied with Arkansas and Tennessee for second in the standings behind Auburn; however, due to tiebreakers, Kentucky is currently in fourth place. We’ll get into the nitty-gritty of the scenarios in just a moment, but if the Cats beat Florida, they will get the No. 3 seed and play late Friday night. If they lose to the Gators, they’ll be the No. 4 seed, playing the second game on Friday afternoon with a potential rematch vs. Auburn on Saturday.
Here are the standings and seeds after last night. While the top of the pack is becoming more defined, there’s a huge logjam in the middle.
