In one month, we’ll be in Tampa getting ready to watch the Cats start their SEC Tournament run. If the tournament started today, Kentucky would be the No. 2 seed, playing the winner of No. 7 Vanderbilt vs. No. 10 South Carolina Friday night at 6 p.m. ET.

Kentucky is currently one game back from Auburn in the standings. Should the Tigers lose another game and be tied with Kentucky in the standings, they’ll still hold the tiebreaker thanks to the win on the Plains. Arkansas and Tennessee are tied for third, with the Razorbacks currently holding the edge because they beat Auburn, the No. 1 seed, on Tuesday. Arkansas and Tennessee play each other twice over the next month, so we’ll have a head-to-head tiebreaker soon. The Razorbacks have a tough road ahead, but if they continue to play well, Kentucky’s game in Fayetteville on Feb. 26 could be huge.
