How did voters view Kentucky‘s 1-1 week with a double-digit home win vs. No. 11 Texas A&M, followed by a tight home loss to No. 4 Alabama? The Wildcats are still a top-10 team in college basketball, dropping one spot in the latest AP Poll while hanging tight in the Coaches Poll as the consensus No. 9 team in the nation.

The top 10 features five SEC teams, led once again by Auburn as the consensus No. 1 team in the country. Alabama (No. 4), Florida (No. 5), Tennessee (No. 6) join Kentucky in the top 10, followed by Texas A&M (No. 13), Mississippi State (No. 14), Ole Miss (No. 16) and Missouri (No. 23) round out the conference representatives in the top 25 while Vanderbilt and Georgia are also receiving votes.

Kentucky in other national rankings

Just as there wasn’t much movement in the major polls, Kentucky didn’t see much change in the national rankings, either. In fact, the only outlet to drop the Wildcats after splitting the games this past week vs. Texas A&M and Alabama was The Athletic, who moved UK from No. 10 overall to No. 12.

Besides that, it was more of the same from a week ago — with both CBS Sports’ analysts actually moving Kentucky up a spot from No. 8 to No. 7.
