Kentucky RB Ray Davis makes Reese’s Senior Bowl Midseason All-America Team
Ray Davis‘ incredible start to the 2023 season continues to earn him national praise.
Not long after it was announced by Pro Football Focus on Wednesday that Davis was tabbed as a Midseason All-American Team, the Kentucky running back hauled in another honor. The Reese’s Senior Bowl named Davis as one of two ball carriers to make their Midseason All-American Team. Only players who are eligible for the 2024 Senior Bowl were considered for this recognition.
Through six games in his first season at Kentucky, the 5-foot-10 Davis has tallied 91 carries for 653 yards (7.2 YPC) and eight touchdowns. He’s also caught 13 balls for 182 yards and four more touchdowns. Davis’ best performance so far came during the Wildcats’ 33-14 win over Florida on Sept. 30 when he ran for 280 yards and totaled four touchdowns. He earned multiple National Player of the Week honors for that outing.

Davis leads the Southeastern Conference in several categories, including overall scoring touchdowns (12), rushing yards per game (108.83), yards per rush (7.2), total rushing yards (653), and rushing touchdowns (eight). On a national level, his 12 total touchdowns lead the country while his 653 rushing yards rank ninth and 108.8 rushing yards per game rank 11th.
So far this season, Davis has now been recognized as the Midseason Transfer Impact of the Year, Midseason Offensive Transfer of the Year, Midseason Running Back of the Year, and Midseason First-Team All-American Offense. Even in Kentucky’s disappointing 51-13 loss to Georgia last week, Davis ran for 59 yards and hauled in 36 receiving yards for one touchdown.
