Kentucky reaches out to Missouri transfer forward Trevon Brazile
Kentucky has expressed interest in Missouri transfer Trevon Brazile, a freshman forward for the Tigers.
The Wildcats join Arkansas, Illinois, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Cincinnati among the early schools to reach out to Brazile, he told Blake Smith of Recruits Zone.
Brazile averaged 6.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per contest on the year, including 12.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game over Missouri’s last five games. A tremendous athlete with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, the 6-foot-9 small forward is considered one of the best long-term prospects to hit the portal.
“All he wants to do is be a good basketball player and be a part of a team,” former Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin said of Brazile in February. “Once in his mind he truly realizes that he’s one of the best out there, you’ll see next level.”

He came in as a freshman weighing 189 pounds and has since grown to 215 pounds. Turning that potential into production, along with building muscle, has been the name of the game with Brazile. That slowly became reality to close out the season.
“He can block shots, rebound, he can score the ball,” Missouri guard Javon Pickett, who also entered the portal this week, said. “The main thing is really just continuing to get stronger. Once he gets stronger, the sky’s the limit.”
Brazile had four games of double-digit scoring as a freshman, including a 15-point, 8-rebound, 2-block, 2-steal effort against LSU in the SEC Tournament. He also had eight games of at least seven rebounds on the year and 17 games of at least two blocks.
Now, the 6-foot-9 forward is looking for his next stop, with Kentucky emerging as an early option.
