Kentucky reaches out to Missouri transfer Xavier Pinson

Kentucky has reached out to yet another high-profile basketball transfer, this time staying within the Southeastern Conference.
UK has reportedly been in contact with Missouri transfer Xavier Pinson, the 6-foot-2 guard’s former Nike EYBL program, Mac Irvin Fire, confirmed on Wednesday.
According to the team, Kentucky joins the likes of Auburn, Nebraska, Arkansas, St. Louis and San Diego State to express interest in the talented guard originally out of Chicago, IL.

Pinson, who officially entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, was Missouri’s second-leading scorer in 2020-21, averaged 13.5 points on 42.6% shooting and 33.6% from three to go with 2.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds per contest last season. The junior guard started all 26 games for the Tigers this year.
Pinson joins the likes of Auburn’s Justin Powell, Davidson’s Kellan Grady and Minnesota’s Marcus Carr with confirmed Kentucky interest among guards.
