The Week 16 AP Top 25 was released Monday afternoon and for an eighth straight week, it is without your University of Kentucky Wildcats.

However, Kentucky played its way back into the Others Receiving Votes category following back-to-back Quad 1 wins in last week’s games against Mississippi State and Tennessee. The Wildcats received 12 votes in the poll, while Tennessee dropped one place to No. 11 with the loss. Beating Alabama last week helped the Vols’ case.

Up at the top, Houston overtook Alabama as the No. 1 team in college basketball. The Crimson Tide fell to second ahead of Kansas, UCLA, and Purdue, in that order.
