Kentucky’s 31-0 win over Southern Miss didn’t do much to impress the AP votes. The new poll is out and the Cats received two points, which is tied with Arkansas and West Virginia for No. 42 overall. That’s two spots lower than where they were in the Preseason AP Poll last month. Wildly, Vanderbilt received more points (eight) than Kentucky following its big win over Virginia Tech. Look at you, ‘Dores.

Georgia and Ohio State remain the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the land, followed by Texas, Alabama, and Notre Dame. Ole Miss comes in at No. 6, Missouri jumped two spots to No. 9, and Tennessee one spot to No. 14. Oklahoma (No. 15) and LSU (No. 18) make up the rest of the eight SEC teams in the Top 25, with Texas A&M just outside at No. 26. Louisville jumped into the Top 25, coming in at No. 22. South Carolina, Saturday’s opponent, is nowhere to be found.

The Coaches Poll, which came out earlier today, was much kinder to the Cats. Kentucky received 23 points, which is No. 29 overall, an eight-spot increase from the preseason poll. The Cats are No. 28 in the latest ESPN Football Power Index, a one-spot jump from yesterday. South Carolina dropped significantly in both metrics, coming in at No. 49 in the FPI and not receiving any votes in the Coaches Poll.
