Kentucky will reportedly meet with Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson via Zoom
The No. 1 player in On3’s transfer portal rankings is set to meet with Kentucky on Wednesday.
According to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson is expected to talk with members of the Kentucky men’s basketball coaching staff today through Zoom. The three-time All-Big Ten performer entered his name in the transfer portal on Friday. Dickinson averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game as a junior at Michigan in 2022-23, shooting 56 percent from the field.
This news came almost immediately after it was reported that Kentucky freshman center, Ugonna Onyenso, would put his name in the portal.
With Kentucky losing Onyenso and the expectation that two-time All-American Oscar Tshiebwe will also depart the program, head coach John Calipari is going to be searching for more size in the portal to pair alongside incoming five-star freshman, Aaron Bradshaw. During his high school days as a four-star recruit out of Maryland, Dickinson took an unofficial visit to check out UK.

Dickinson, a 7-foot-1 center, produced 31 double-doubles during his time at Michigan, totaling 1,600+ points and 750+ rebounds in the process. He’s expected to be one of the most sought-after options available in the portal. On3’s national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw reported earlier this week that Dickinson has been linked to the likes of Georgetown, Maryland, and Syracuse.
This past season, Dickinson matched up against Kentucky as part of the London basketball showcase at the O2 Arena in England, dropping 23 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks on 10-22 shooting in 35 minutes played. The ‘Cats came out with the victory though, beating Michigan 73-69 behind Tshiebwe‘s 14 points and 13 rebounds.
