Could a new option for the 2023 recruiting class be on the table for John Calipari?

According to Endless Motor Sports, Kentucky has reached out to 6-foot-6, 210-pound small forward Jamie Kaiser out of Bishop Ireton (VA). Kaiser is not currently ranked by On3’s recruiting service, but he is considered the No. 77 overall player and a four-star prospect from the ’23 class, according to 247Sports.

He went from unranked in the winter to cracking the top 80 overall in the spring, earning 17 Divison I offers since April. Kaiser has performed at a high level for the New World program on the Adidas 3SSB circuit this year.

On June 5, Kaiser dropped a list of his top nine schools, which included Virginia, Indiana, Miami (FL), Boston College, Iowa, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Maryland, and Wisconsin. He also doubles as a three-star ATH on the football field but recently announced he is solely focused on playing basketball at the college level. Kentucky could look to get more involved as his recruitment appears to wind down.

Kaiser wrapped up an official visit with Maryland earlier this week. The Terrapins have been recruiting him for a while now, as Kaiser grew up going to Maryland games as a kid, he told 247Sports. He’s also taken official visits this year to Wisconsin and Virginia.
