Kentucky reportedly reaches out to USC transfer guard Tre White
Kentucky has been slow-playing the transfer portal this offseason, but a new name just up popped on the radar.
On Sunday morning, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports tweeted that Southern California transfer guard Tre White has heard from roughly two dozen schools since entering his name into the portal on April 19. Among the schools to reach out? The Kentucky Wildcats.
White spent just one season at USC where he averaged 9.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Trojans while starting in 29 of his 33 appearances. Out of high school, where he played for national powerhouse Prolific Prep, the 6-foot-7 guard was considered a four-star recruit and the No. 39 overall prospect in the country from the class of 2022, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
Joining Kentucky on White’s list of early interest includes several SEC programs such as LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. He’s also heard from Louisville, as well, with a potential visit to the Cardinals already in the works, a source tells KSR.

During his lone season at USC, White quickly became a full-time starter after coming off the bench in his first three outings. The native of Dallas, TX is terrific when it comes to scoring inside the arc as he hit 52.5 percent of his 2s in 2022-23. That being said, he went just 26.5 percent of his shots from beyond the arc and recorded more turnovers (40) than assists (34).
His best performance as a Trojan came in a Feb. 4 win over Washington in which he scored a career-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists on 10-16 shooting from the field. He was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for that showing. You can check out his season highlights below.
