Three Wildcats will represent Kentucky at SEC Media Days
The talking season officially begins on Tuesday when the Big 12 hosts their huge media days event in Las Vegas for the first time. Next week, the SEC will get rolling as the conference’s four-day mega-event heads to the Lonestar State for the first time. Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops will take the stage for the 12th time, and he will be bringing three players with him.
We now know who those three players are after the SEC released the player attendees list for the event on Monday. Kentucky will have some star power at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Dallas with Marques Cox, D’Eryk Jackson, and Deone Walker making the trip.
Cox is a former Northern Illinois transfer who is now in his seventh year of college football. The left tackle started all 13 games for the Wildcats last year and was the group’s best player throughout the season. The Illinois native will be playing for a new offensive line coach again in 2024 but should get some preseason All-SEC recognition in Dallas.
Jackson was Kentucky’s lowest-ranked recruit in a top-25 signing class in 2020 but has quickly turned into a key part of the defense. The South Georgia native has played in 39 career games with 23 starting assignments. The off-ball linebacker led the defense in tackles in both 2022 (67) and 2023 (89). Jackson is one of the best returning linebackers in the SEC and will play a big role for a Kentucky front seven with high expectations.

Oregon coach getting NFL buzz
Walker is Kentucky’s best player, and the true junior has a ton of legitimate NFL Draft buzz. The former four-star recruit out of Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech was a first-team All-SEC performer last season and is getting All-American buzz in 2024. The defensive tackle is one of the best players in the SEC and is the face of Kentucky’s program right now.
SEC Media begins on Monday, July 15 and will run through Thursday, July 18. KSR will be live in Dallas throughout the event to provide non-stop coverage.
