Kentucky sends entire staff to visit 5-star Justin Edwards
Kentucky is going all-in on 2023 five-star wing Justin Edwards, bringing the entire coaching staff up to Philadelphia for an in-home visit.
The Miller Report broke the news of the visit early Monday evening.
Edwards is rated as the No. 11 overall prospect and No. 3 small forward in the 2023 On3 Player Rankings. In the midst of an impressive grassroots season, the five-star wing will be in the conversation for a jump into the top five in the next update.
Kentucky extended a scholarship offer during Edwards’ official visit to Lexington back in November.
“(What stood out during the trip is) their playing style, it’s a pro-style offense,” Edwards said at Nike EYBL Session II this past weekend in Indianapolis. “Kentucky being based off basketball was good. The energy and stuff was just crazy.”
The 6-foot-7 wing out of Philadelphia has long called Kentucky his dream school. It’s a program that speaks for itself.

“It’s Kentucky, you know? I don’t know what else to say,” the five-star wing added. “… They get people to the pros, I would say. (Calipari) has been very successful at it.”
Kentucky has been seen as the longtime favorite, but Tennessee and Auburn have crept in late as serious threats. The Volunteers’ pitch of being a potential day-one star with freedom in role has stood out, as does their family-oriented approach.
“Family atmosphere,” Edwards told KSR. “When I went there on my visit, they treated me like family.”
The standout wing plans to cut his list this week, though a decision is coming “no time soon,” he said.
How will he determine which program is the right one for him when it comes time for a commitment?
“How I’d fit in and how many people at my position they’re recruiting,” Edwards said.
